3 NFL Quarterbacks You’re Overlooking

The NFL is full of players with great ability. With so many quality players out there, it can be easy to overlook talent. The following NFL quarterbacks should not be written off. You never know when a QB will take the league by storm and shine. Last year it was Geno Smith who was unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight and showcased his skills with the Seattle Seahawks. This year, we're shining a light on three quarterbacks who deserve more attention and recognition for their impressive performances on the field. These NFL quarterbacks may not have the same level of media coverage or fanfare as some of the league's superstars, but their abilities and potential should not be underestimated.

Kenny Pickett

How could we forget about Kenny Pickett? This second-year quarterback has the potential to be great for the Steelers in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, injuries plagued his rookie season. He suffered from two concussions during the 2022 season. This caused many to overlook him and question his ability to stay healthy.

While durability is a concern for Pickett, he has made strides to become a less injury-prone NFL quarterback. For one, he has bulked up a bit. According to SteelersNow, Kenny Pickett weighed in at 213 pounds after his rookie season. However, during OTAs this Tuesday, he tipped the scales at an impressive 226 pounds. Pickett's commitment to adding muscle mass demonstrates his dedication to becoming a stronger and more physically resilient quarterback.

As Pickett continues to work on himself and build a rapport with George Pickens, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Freiermuth, there's a palpable sense of excitement surrounding his potential. The Steelers' receiving corps provides Pickett with a talented group of targets that can help elevate his game to new heights.

Furthermore, Pickett's football IQ and decision-making skills have been praised by his coaches and teammates. He has shown a strong understanding of the game, often making smart reads and distributing the ball effectively, indicating that he is ready to take the next step in his development. As Kenny Pickett continues his journey in the NFL, it's crucial not to overlook his potential. Keep an eye on Pickett as he strives to prove his doubters wrong and carve out a successful career in the league.

Daniel Jones

Many people counted Daniel Jones out last season. However, Jones still managed to squeeze the Giants into a playoff spot. This year he will be eager to make the playoffs once again. Unfortunately, this will be a tough battle as I expect the Eagles to win the NFC East. Nevertheless, Daniel Jones does have plenty of upside in fantasy football this coming season. The main reason being he likes to scramble and can do it well. In the 2022 season, he rushed for over 700 yards and had seven rushing touchdowns.

With the addition of TE Darren Waller, Jones has the potential to be a decent fantasy option with a pretty high ceiling. He could very well end up as a top-12 NFL quarterback. Furthermore, former Colts WR Parris Campbell is now on the Giants. Campell is coming off the best season of his career. In 2022, he finished the season with 63 catches, racking up over 600 yards. As long as Parris Campbell can stay healthy, something he has struggled with in the past, he should be the Giants’ primary receiver in the slot. This should help Jones boast some impressive numbers throughout the 2023 season.

If Daniel Jones is someone you are overlooking, he shouldn’t be. Towards the end of last season, Jones was on fire. During the last two games of the season, the NFL quarterback scored 58 fantasy points. Not only was this the best in the quarterback position. It was the best in the entire league. Fantasy managers should consider starting him in favorable matchups, particularly in weeks 2, 7, 9, and 11, where he has the potential for great outings. Regardless of how he does in fantasy, DJ has proven himself to be a more than capable NFL quarterback.

Matthew Stafford

After a less-than-stellar performance by Matt Stafford, you may be thinking his time is coming to an end. Well, think again. Although the 35-year-old NFL quarterback suffered a neck injury last season, causing him to miss several games beyond week 9, he now claims he is ready to do big things this season. With Cooper Kupp expected to return this season, Stafford will have a reliable target to reignite his passing game.

Furthermore, Stafford's experience and football acumen should not be underestimated. Throughout his career, he has consistently showcased his arm strength, ability to read defenses and make clutch throws. That said, Stafford has the potential to prove yet again he still has what it takes to be a winning quarterback in this league.

Will Matthew Stafford silence the doubters and showcase his resiliency? Only time will tell, but don't be surprised if he defies expectations and leads the Rams to a far better season than they had last year. Get ready for the Stafford comeback story because it might be one of the most remarkable narratives of the season.
